A Codex-style update_plan extension for Pi. It provides a three-state task checklist, branch-aware session persistence, a persistent TUI widget, and bounded reminders on later user turns.

Installation

pi install npm:@huntye1/pi-codex-todo

Run /reload in an active Pi session. For local development:

pi --extension ./packages/pi-codex-todo/extensions/update-plan.ts

Features

• Codex-compatible update_plan input with pending, in_progress, and completed states
• Complete-snapshot updates with at most one active item
• State restored from the active Pi session branch after resume or tree navigation
• Compact tool-result rendering plus a persistent widget and footer counter
• A bounded hidden reminder at the start of later user turns while work remains
• /todos, /todos show, /todos hide, and /todos clear

This is an execution checklist, not Pi's read-only Plan Mode.

The model calls update_plan with the complete current checklist:

At most one item may be in_progress. Every update replaces the previous snapshot, so completed and pending items must remain in the array until they are intentionally removed.

Commands

• /todos shows the latest checklist.
• /todos hide hides the persistent widget without clearing state.
• /todos show restores the widget.
• /todos clear clears the checklist and persists the cleared state on the active branch.

State behavior

Checklist snapshots are stored in the Pi session and reconstructed only from the active branch. Abandoned branch state does not leak into the current branch. The reminder is added only when unfinished work exists and is bounded to avoid prompt growth.

Pi host APIs are optional peer dependencies supplied by Pi. The published package contains the extension entry point, source files, both READMEs, license, and package metadata.
