pi-metals-mcp

A pi extension that automatically connects pi to the Scala Metals MCP server.

How it works

Metals writes its MCP endpoint to .metals/mcp.json. This extension watches that file and registers the endpoint with pi's MCP adapter. It handles project startup, file changes, and cleanup when the session ends.

Install

pi install npm:@coreyoconnor/pi-metals-mcp

Or install directly from GitLab:

pi install git:gitlab.com/coreyoconnor/pi-metals-mcp

The extension is loaded automatically for projects where Metals has created .metals/mcp.json.
